lichess TV ideas

These days, I tend to kibitz games more than actually play them. I really love the flexibility of lichess TV in that it breaks out different categories, auto-switches to much higher rated games, etc. That said, there could be some improvements.

- Can you make hyperbullet its own category? I realize for the rating pools, it needs to be lumped in with bullet, but for kibitzing, 30 second games are really terrible to watch. I know some would argue that bullet games in general are bad, but I think there's a clear distinction between 1 minute and 30 second games.

- For the Top Rated category, can you allow each user to choose which time controls/variants can appear as the top rated game? Maybe under preferences? Often, I want to get on and watch the top game in bullet or blitz, but if a standard game pops up, I need to manually pick either bullet or blitz and then keep an eye if a better match up appears in the other category. Similarly, sometimes the Top Rated is dominated by 30 second games that I don't wish to see, so I have to manually switch to other categories.

- Can you add an option to "Go back to previous" game if the game should switch from an in-progress game to a higher rated game. Sometime it will switch, but the game it switched from is interesting and I'd like to see how it finishes.

- This may be a mobile app only thing, but can you make it easier to follow a particular player by clicking their name? Currently in the app, it brings up just their ratings if you click the name, but no option for "Player X TV" to watch their games.

I agree with the bit about hyperbullet.

The fact that 1/2+0 and 2+1 affect the same rating is...odd at best. I also spend more time kibitzing than playing, and agree that hyperbullet is terrible to watch.

One other thing that would be nice is that I often just want to watch the game featuring the highest rated player that is currently playing.

Right now the current games screen shows games by highest average rating of the two players. Maybe an option to show games either by average rating or by the rating of the higher rated player?

I can kind of do this by going to the players page and doing a mouse-over of each of the highest rated players until I find one that's playing, but that's a bit tedious.

I do firmly agree that having the option to "set" games would be nice.

I am annoyed when I'm watching an interesting game to be stripped of it and shown a slightly higher rated game. Or being ping-ponged around from player to player within the spans of tens of seconds because some new games started. I want the option to hold fast.

Maybe a clickable icon that allows you to stick with whatever game you're watching until conclusion?
