Casual games and high rated players.

" I think we should step back from the negative emotions for a sec, when we realize we're being harrassed. We don't deserve taking such people seriously. "

Very good point Bloody. If you let a child offend me, then what does that make you? Never take these people seriously.

Well, I am the weakest 1900 on this site... between the hours of noon and 4pm. then I turn it up at night. Anyone else have this issue?
I dont see the point playing unrated. Rating should tell your skill and include all games imho. I have played chess drunk, tired, and sick.
I hardly ever play unrated but as of late I've been playing it a bit more, I remember when I was 800 and met someone in the 2000's, but they'd never bother playing against me, so I try to make it a point to let anyone challenge me.
Don't worry, you're far from being high rated.
Sexist insults are not cool...
but this isn't really something that needs an explanation.

I play rated because my rating is too low and I want to make it higher...
If you are happy with your rating I don't see why anyone would fault you for playing more on casual.
I'm not high rated I'm a C player. But at the same time, I generally play casual only when I'm training with someone so that there can be discussion, takebacks, even in-game analysis if needed. I don't allow takebacks in rated games, and I would be very upset if someone decided to start a conversation about the position, use outside analysis, etc. during a game that was rated. These casual games are usually against much stronger players. I imagine they do this a lot, so just because they are challenging weaker players to casual games it shouldn't be seen as weakness or trying to protect their rating.

Likewise, sometimes when I see lower rated players with casual games and I'm not really prepped to play at my level, I will take their game. Again, this is so I can allow their takebacks if they want them, add time to their clock without feeling I'm potentially hurting myself, etc.

tl;dr -- There can be many legitimate reasons for casual games, especially that of training matches against higher rated players where you can get more time, takebacks, etc. and get their feedback. It isn't just to "protect" a rating.
