Time between leaving the game and the other person claiming victory

Please consider changing how this works. My graphics card just crashed and I was forced to restart firefox. It took about 30 seconds to rejoin the game, and I came back to see that my opponent claimed a win. He was down a rook and the position was not in his favor, he did not deserve to win that game.
Really this mechanic should not even exist, the person should lose when they run out of time. By creating/joining a game that is, say, 20 minutes, you agree that you have nowhere else to be for those 20 minutes. Nothing is forcing you to watch the screen for the entire time after they leave, and you can just make some sound play in case they do come back and move.
This entire concept of claiming a victory because someone's tab or window closes is ridiculous.
There are too many rage quitters so I appreciate the option to claim victory after a person disconnects from the site in a lost position. I use my phone's hotspot to connect to the net so every now and then my signal drops and I lose a game. A game lost here and there to a lost connection doesn't compare to the number of people who just leave games in losing positions so their opponents wait for minutes to win and to play again. One game lost won't really hurt you man. Just my opinion.
