Transvestite Attack?

No; look it up on wikipedia. I sometimes play it as anon for fun?Few things are as good as winning with that opener.
It seems you are right I cannot find it in wikipedia now. I could swear i read about it just a few months ago.

Haha, we inserted that as an Easter egg a long time ago. We thought about what could be a more pointless and ridiculous opening than the Bongcloud Attack, and Beats of all people was the one to play it!

I wouldn't be surprised if he played it intentionally knowing of its existence. He's been in and out of IRC a few times and has had a few looks at the source code.

There are a few more Easter eggs in the opening database, but here are the entries for the Transvestite opening:

I can understand the gag and it's a matter of a taste, but isn't the name a bit to unrefined for a serious chess site? Not that I care much, just everything here seems so refined, high level etc., and when I saw that name that you won't find in (probably) any chess book etc.
Also why is there no Sicilian: Smith-Morra gambit, it is very popular in non-GM/IM games and at certain level it is nearly the most popular answer against 1..c5.
Lichess has always been a no-nonsense site when it comes to chess, but at its core, it's always been a homegrown effort. It's far from a soulless corporate entity. So hey, why not include something silly like the Bongcloud or this Attack. :)

As for the Smith-Morra gambit, it's certainly represented, in multiple forms:
github.com/ornicar/scalachess/blob/master/src/main/scala/Openings.scala#L1557-L1566

Perhaps you're transposing into it some other way? It can easily be added if you can't find the specific variation (as long as it is a reasonably recognised variation).
What I must have meant is that you can't search for Smith Morra gambit games using the "Advanced search" option, but you can search for "this" opening which I haven't seen in actual play (both mine and games I observe) in my life and I have played probably like 100000 games in my life (including all those 1+0 bullets) and observed probably like ~30000 games. Now I can see that it is indeed marked correctly when viewing games. Sicilian is probably the most common opening of all chess games, and at certain level (probably like 1800 to 2400 FIDE Elo) Smith-Morra is second most popular answer to Sicilian behind 2. Nf3 (I am almost sure) and in certain circles probably even the most popular answer.

I agree that while lichess is professionally done it isn't and shouldn't be like those common corporate sites lacking any soul all done similarly to one and another etc., however this particular name seemed out of place, but as I said I don't care much, what I do care about is that you can't search for Smith-Morra gambit games.
;p ^-^ I have looked at the source code before so I came upon the openings file and I have been studying from it. I said I knew what it was on stream, I can't believe there is a forum post just for this!
