May 2020. That was the month when I entered the LiChess world. On my profile, it states that I’ve had an account since February 2021. However, this is incorrect. My old account was Abatra24 which I shut down for a fresh start. You see, I was frustrated with my rapid rating; it had never surpassed 1500 so I thought with a new account, new profile and new name, I could increase my rating and win tournaments.
Hence, I created A24BaTrA.
Yet... for the first few weeks with minimal concentration on other endeavours, I could not surpass 1500. I tried and tried - however, after each game my rating would increase and then fall. Increase and then fall. Time and time again. But... like a falcon with meat in its sight, I focused and eventually my eyes saw what they wanted to see - 1500!
