Let's Thank Thibault

Thank you Thibault. Lichess is amazing! Like Wikipedia, like Stockfish, like Firefox it will surpass its competition one day.

We can feel the passion behind all this.
I was very impressed when I found out this was a single person's work - done as a hobby! -, fully free without advertising. You're not even begging for donations. I had wondered how it's financed and it took me a little while to find out because it's all so very unobstrusive.

I also feel that the interface is very clean and beautiful . It works very well, without bothering the player, even if the connection is lost during play. And the Chess features are very useful, it looks so professional, yet lightweight. Besides, the development speed is impressively rapid. One of my favourite features is the game analysis and the Chess Insights (which shows me my strange playing style ;)) - it is packed with a lot of information and presented in a very pretty way. There are so much cool features, I mean, even the captchas here in the forum are ”made of Chess“, someone has to program all the stuff, and it's done “just so”.

This is something to find rarely in the depth of the Internet. In a world where so many things are being commercialised, this is a positive example of what is possible by the enthusiastic non-profit work of a single person. And it connects people from all over the world (I also feel that it's not so much centered to one part of the Earth).

Merci beaucoup

Your creativity and love for the game and the people and Internet fascinates me. I hope you never get tired, but if you do, that's OK and I can understand it, and anyway, now, later, and ever: Thanks Thibault! Muchas gracias, en serio, un gran trabajo, un enorme desarrollo.
